My son did it!

My teenager who will turn 14 this month told me a moment ago that he wants to be lacto-vegetarian once more. I asked him what changed his mind, since he went back to eating meat occasionally this year. He answered he wants to be healthier and for the animals but mostly for his health. He was feeling upset because my mom gave him a big bag of German sausages for the Oktoberfest and he did not had the guts to say no.

I hugged him tight and thanked him for his choice! I knew he would come back to at least vegetarian (he was vegan last year). He started exercising a bit, drinks my super smoothies packed with nutrients and switched to soy milk (he prefers the taste). So his lacto side is the cheese but he doesn't consume it often (like one grilled cheese per week, 1 Kraft Dinner).

We have a French-Canadian junkfood called poutine made with curd cheese and I think he doesn't want to let go of that lol. Fine with this vegan mom, he doesn't eat junkfood often (once per 2-3 weeks only no joke), he just want to keep this option available I think

I knew serving him tasty food while respecting his choice would give positive results, way faster then expected too! We'll give back the sausages to grannie, they are in the freezer now.

Awesome!

My daughter veered off...back to the world of eating meat...for a while, as a young adult. But she found her way back. I think once they know about the abuse and everything, it's hard to NOT think about it.

Excellent! I did like sausage, but don't miss it. Some of the vegan "sausages" I've tried have actually been quite satisfying; much of the taste is the seasonings, and the texture is convincing enough for me. But they're expensive, like most meat substitutes I've tried, and not everyone is as easy to please as I am... so I won't encourage you to buy them if your son has a more refined palate than I do!

I saw some veg*n Bavarian sausages the other day, 6$can for like 5 only. I could always buy that if he really wants some, but he's more of a rice and tofu addict anyway, so really not hard to please. I bought him multivitamins a moment ago, so grand-parents won't have ground to complain and will be reassured he won't be deficient in anything.

Checking my cron-o-meter chart, 293% B12 intake for today and still have a cup of fortified plant milk to drink before bedtime. Only supplement I take is vit D in winter.

Whooohoo!!! As a kind gesture, I found a vegan poutine that looks good.

Anytime I think I'm perfect, I remember that my cousin lives on an island, and I've never walked over to visit her.
