I always find it comforting that people here have been veggie for so long.

I've been vegan since the day my son was born, which was 2/4/02 - So I think it's been *exactly* 2 and a half years.

There's quite a few of us who went vegan at that time (plus or minus a few months)....coincidence??? I wonder??

My whole family went vegetarian as a result of research for a debate/speech paper, about 3-4 years ago. I had my one year veganniversary in May. I celebrated by going to the Hacienda (they are super about vegan options), buying some "Tofutti Better Pecan" afterwards, and joining VB.

Hooray for you Lelena!

SallyK - I went vegetarian just a couple of months before my son was born! I think having a child makes you really think about your morals and what you want to pass on to them. I know that was a part of it for me!

I know the feeling. Everyone says you forget the taste and don't crave it after a while. I'm still waiting. I don't really miss cheese alone or on other things but I do miss cheese pizza. Probably because I practically lived on it before 1991.

For me... 9 years and counting. I was a vegan for one year of that but went back to being lacto-ovo vegetarian. I'm probably about 80% vegan still but when I go out I do eat cheese products. At home I am pretty much all vegan.

Vegetarian since 4/00, tried veganism twice in that time, adding up to about six months of veganism.

Q: How many poets does it take to change a light bulb? A: 1001...one to change the bulb, 1000 to say it's already been done.

Shag...I swear there's a roommate connection here somewhere!

In addition to everything else we have in common, we both went veg*n about the same time.

The last time I ate meat was 2/11/04. I'm actively thinking about going vegan and making a conscious effort to reduce my intake of animal products.

Vegetarian for 2 years on the 26th of this month! Conflicted over whether I'd ever go the rest of the way to Vegan. I go back and forth on it. Gave up wearing/using all slaughter-by-product items, however (leather, etc.).
