I had a very brilliant idea I am going to do a study, to see which food looks more appetizing to youngsters (vegan or omni for the choices). I am going to gather several photo's of different foods, with a different version of the food for each lifestyle. Then, I am going to display them on powerpoint, and do the test. Not only is it going to be fun for muah, hopefully it will open up my 4 yr old sisters eyes to the vegan world. She is an omni, but she loves to sit down and have a great meal with me, her favorite being scrambled tofu, with a side of toast, mixed veggies, and a fruit. Wish me luck!

And I will be getting the vegan pictures from vegan websites, and probably a few of our own off of the gallery. I have my eye on nirvana's cookies

I have a probelm though. I can't seem to find any websites with an abundant amount of omnivore food pictures.

that's a really good idea! could prove interesting.. i remember being in the grocery store with my mom, and over the meat section they had this really nasty looking cut of something or other, and i asked my mom, "is that a very un-appetizing picture, or am i just biased?" she looked at it, kind of crinkled her face up, and was like, "err, no, it's not you. that's gross." that was a happy moment

That picture of the cookies isn't that great, there's only like 3 or 4 cookies there, which is all we had left. I should make another batch and take a picture of an entire tinful.

It's the only place where the food is as cruel to the people eating it as it is vice versa.

I did the study

My four year old sister chose vegan for 5 out of the 7 food categories (she chose the soup, christmas dinner, the breakfeast, the cake, and the cookies.)

Actual quotes from catherine

"Vegetable soup is my favorite soup."-Iceflowers vegetable soup.

"I like the colors, the red and the green."-Tofurkey Christmas dinner.

"I love pancakes, its yummy."-Breakfeast w/ pancakes and fruit.

"Its vanilla. Do we have any cake here?"-Vanilla pecan cake.

"They look more yummy."-Nirvana's cookies.

5 out of seven isn't bad. I do want to try out more people. Fun!

I think it would also make an interesting study to use actual foods, though I would never endorse actually buying meaty foods. I think that the 3-D aspect and the smell aspect would be good for the veg*n side.

Well, we already have non vegan foods in the house, so I could do a study like that.

I think in order for it to be fair you'd need to have an omnivore cook preparing the meat dishes.
