I guess this is mainly a question for the vegans: what do you all think about honey? I personally call myself vegan although I eat honey, but I know a lot of people who have a problem with that. I guess I feel that especially with locally produced honey (I get it at the farmer's market), the death or harm to insects is less serious than things like pesticides used in vegetable crops, bone char used to refine sugar, gelatin used in film (I use digital), etc. I'm curious where other people here stand, and why.

Opinions vary. Most vegans avoid honey. I usually don't. Scroll down this page a bit and you'll see "Similar threads" which talk about the same topic.

A long thread about honey has just died down. You can find it here https://www.veggieboards.com/boards/s...ighlight=honey

There's even a poll about it there.

Yes, epski's closing another thread.

Ferret, this is a good example of a thread that is best researched before posting a new one. A lot of the more basic questions have already been addressed, as you see above, numerous times in earlier threads. Hopefully you'll get all the info you need. If not, let me know, and I'll reopen this thread so you can expand on your question.

Thanks.
