How do you deal with it?

Hello everyone I hope you're having an awesome day. I was just wondering, how do you deal with anger?
Now that I know everything, now that I know how humans treat animals, now that I know that most people don't care. How do you manage to not feel angry at them?
Sometimes I feel really angry :c now I question everything, for example: I see a pair shoes, I wonder if they used leather to produce it. I see any packaged food I inmediatly see the ingredients.
I've found out that humans use animals in A LOT of things besides food.
I feel so angry at everyone for letting this happen for so many years and I feel so.... powerless.
I wish I could do more you know? I wish I could save them all. I don't know maybe I'm too sentimental, it makes me angry to think that this is happening right now.
Don't get me wrong I'm glad I've found this board with a bunch of nice people that share an aspect of my routinary life.
I watch funny animal videos to make me happy (little goats *-*)
What are your thoughts on this? Am I not doing enough?

I'm new to this... but what I think about is how people can be so cruel to each other, particularly to women around the world. So many girls are aborted, abandoned, poisoned, and abused just because they are a girl.

If people can do that to other people, it doesn't surprise me they can be so heartless to animals too. I take an hour at most to dwell on it and reflect, maybe try to think if I can do anything to help, but I don't think I can. It is a cultural thing, and a culture has to change for the people to change. I just do what I feel is right and support causes that help even a little. And as bad as this sounds, once that hour is up, I focus on something else. Worrying does not help anyone. The fact is you know, you are informed. So you just move on and try to live your life like a good person and people pick up that.

I have been feeling the same way, lately. Animals, humans....it is overwhelming to think of all the wrongs in the world, so when it starts to get to me, I have to take a step back and remember that I am personally doing what I can to make a change, and encouraging others to do the same, and that is worth something. I am living my own life as cruelty-free as I know how, and teaching my children to do the same. I can only hope it continues to spread through their children, our friends, acquaintances, until everyone becomes aware and compassionate.

It's easy to let go of faith in humanity, and harder to have hope for a better future....but if we all give up, there IS no future.

I do think the way to deal with anger is to do something. Yes. The bodies of animals are used for many things beside food. Of course we can't all be activists, but in our small ways we can.

Running, cooking, blogging, coming here, talking to friends, venting to my partner, reading stories of animals that made it out, listening to podcasts from vegetarian and vegan advocates, reading books on how to be a better advocate, or just books that I might end up referring to friends. It helps keep me focussed on what's important, the animals.

With my anger, I've learned to just accept I'm going to feel it. I don't let it take me over (most of the time). But I acknowledge that it's not really anger, it's frustration. And I remember that I was like them once. I made STUPID comments about vegetarians and vegans, about how 'what about our ancestors' and 'but bacon is delicious'. Now, I'm a vegetarian, so if I can change other people can too. But they're not going to change if I just yell at them to change.

You can 'do more', but it depends on what your life is like right now. If you're only just starting out as veg, I'd really recommend making sure that you're the best advocate you can be in your own life. It can take a bit of effort to get everything worked out, at first. Focus on that.

But if you want to do more, then see if there are any vegetarian or vegan groups where you are. Handing out pamphlets can be effective. Get informed about how people can make the switch to veg. Cook food for your family, so they can see how yummy vego food can be! Or, volunteer at a sanctuary. Or find an organisation that you're happy to give money to and do that.

Funny animal videos are just the best idea in the world (ESPECIALLY GOATS).

The important thing, is that you look after yourself WHILE being a voice for animals. It can get a little draining. But it can also be quite rewarding.

I try to keep in mind that I used to be just like them. I was pretty messed up when I was younger, but I've come to realize I was a victim of brainless tradition, essentially based in ignorance. Dare I say it? I feel sorry for them, because they have no real knowledge, and their cruelties are based, not on experience, but on their training. Sorrow may seem a poor substitute for anger, but it isn't. Anger is as bad as cruelty, maybe worse. So I try to keep in mind they are victims too. Whatever action you take, let it be, not from anger, but from love for those who have not yet learned.

I feel the exact same way.....

In a "perfect" World....no one would eat meat, or animal products. All animals would be respected, so would the humans.

That's a looooong way off. People are too selfish to embrace a compassionate attitude toward animals or other humans. All we can do, is all we can do.

Have a great violence free and compassionate day.

All animals should be respected & should have the ability to lead a natural & enjoyable life. This means not eating them, or abusing them in any way.

We have to realize that we are in this world because we belong here for some reason... We are not very far beyond the absurdities and we are probably fairly still attached to them in a karmic way. For example many of us have built our bodies with meat and other junk and it could take a lot of time and work to free ourselves from that karma. For many of us some of our family and friends are still involved in that stuff. There is not any real reason to be mad at the evolutionary state of others as that is a course of nature, but maybe be mad at ourselves for being in this horrible state of being for reasons that we must work on very hard and seriously for a very lengthy time to be free of... We were a participant in those abuses. And no matter how far we think we are above it, It still has not been long enough (detached from it) and the amount of time and work that it may take to truly free ourselves from the attached karma may (possibly) be way farther and harder than imagined.

Caring about our health is caring about our very state of being and future which is a very good thing to be seriously concerned about making the most of.

I have had vegan-rage flair ups now and again, and I frequently cry at some of the things some humans do. I feel more as a compassionate being than I did as someone who ate meat or otherwise indirectly engaged in animal exploitation. I think a lot of people who open themselves up to the level of suffering and exploitation being inflicted on so many beings can cause horrible rage and anger, but that is not all there is in the world. You seem to be trying to remember that, but do not let it go. Hang on to all the beautiful that comes with the ugly, and spread the beautiful with everyone you know. The more people look at a piglet as a beautiful smart animal might begin to put a face on who they are eating.

Do not give up. Feel everything, but do not let the suffering overwhelm you.

If I sat here angry at what other people did everyday, I would never be happy. I don't ignore the problems, I just do my part to make things a little better for the people I am around the most. Changing one person, making them happier for one day tends to have a chain reaction.
