Hi there,
I currently live in a small hick town that actually dislikes vegetarians and vegans. People are always rude when the find out the kind of lifestyle I prefer. Needless to say, there are very limited options in town for purchasing food items. I have been getting some things on amazon but hate paying the extra shipping on each item. I am a college student and would like an inexpensive website with a lot of options. Any suggestions? Thank you

Shipping costs are often the same, whether you order one item from a site at a time, or order fifteen. So you can minimize the shipping by ordering less often, and "stocking up" on the things you buy.

Hre's a few online stores I'm aware of-

The Vegan Store

Andy's Market

You might search online for a store that's located near you. Distance can effect price too, especially if you're ordering refrigerated items. For example, VeganEssentials is in Wisconsin, less than 200-miles from where I live. They can ship to me in just one day, so I can save money by not having to buy a "cold pack" for the delivery.

Good luck, and welcome to VeggieBoards!

I get a lot of my stuff on amazon with amazon prime. It gives free two day shipping on a lot of items. I got a 6 month free trial for being a student so maybe you could try it if they still offer it (it's called amazon student). I eventually bought it when the trial ran out because I'm a huge procrastinator and often have to pay for two day shipping on school things, so it saved me money in the long run lol. It's like $35 for a student for a year and it's unlimited. A lot of people think it's a waste, but it's worth it for me. But definitely try the free trial- there are no strings attached, as long as you make sure it's not set to auto renew (which it might be automatically, but you just click a button to change it). Other than that I really don't have much advice, just wanted to let you know about the prime option.
