I am considering becoming a vegetarian but having a problem. I feel sleepy after eating cooked leafy (and non-leafy too) vegetables. And it stays a long time--for hours! It is the same if I eat any starches (like rice, bread, pasta, etc.) with it or not. First I thought that it was the grains that was making me feel sleepy. Then I thought it might be the starchy veggies. So i tried only the green leafy vegetables; but I felt equally sleepy. In terms of sleepiness it is worse than my non-vegetarian lunch or dinner in which case sleepiness does not stay this long! But if I eat raw vegetables as a Salad dish or veggie smoothie, it's not that bad.
So I am confused. I usually cook food once a week and then fridge them in meal size packets and heat and eat throughout the week.
