Why does this get coverage? It makes me sick that the death of a 60 year old animal is celebrated. Would we be celebrating the slaughter of 60 year old human grandfather?

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former - Albert Einstein

That's disgusting.

The worst sin toward our fellow creatures is not to hate them, but to be indifferent to them. That is the essence of humanity.

It is so awful how she is so proud of it that she is going o stuff the gator. Also, in the first article, the sole comment read that they were glad it was the gator that died and not the other way around. We have so many gators down where I live and they just leave people alone if we lave them alone.

Steve Irwin must be rolling over in his grave. Poor gator.

Try and comfort yourself with the idea that someday people will look back on these kinds of articles in disgust. And the older generation will tell them "Yes, they used to kill animals for fun, and even eat them!" And everyone will remark how weird and disgusting and horrible that is.

I hope so anyway. Perhaps I'm dreaming.

It's not, but the circumstances are sickening. They had to "secure" the creature before shooting it, meaning it had no chance, it was immobilized while they pumped if full of bullets, which didn't kill it so they stabbed it in the back to sever it's spine. It's barbaric.
