There's a certain impulse some of us may have to discount the suffering of these workers because of footage we've seen of some of them abusing animals, but at the end of the day many of them are struggling to get by and feed their families - and some of them are undercover animal rights activists who took the job to take undercover footage for new documentaries or pamphlets. I try to keep in mind that they're just people too and they are trapped in unsafe working environments through no real fault of their own.
