You need to tell your friend that shrimp are not vegetables.

on this topic (well of BBQ) i used to love the smell of BBQ, today, for the first time, i was at a BBQ (well sorta i was doing work related stuff the company there was BBQing) and i was sickend immediatley.. I opened my truck door and just about dies..

Peculiar.. i was so trying not to heave i ran strait to my truck and held my breath as long as possible.. I imagine my lack of desire for meat and consistant fleshless diet for well over a month is respoinsible (that or im prego but the latter is much less likely)

Oh dear. I'm not sure that I've ever seen shrimp growing off of trees, before.

That really sucks. ):

He is not my friend. He is my friend's sister's very new boyfriend. So I didn't bother. But my friend leaned over and said...vegetarians don't eat shrimp right? SO I didn't have to comment, everyone noticed it was weird.

Yeah... I've heard they kinda look similar. I don't know. Whatever. I'm gonna go fetch some pickled herring from the shrub outside my house.

Well he won't be eating too many shrimp pretty soon. I guess a lot of US shrimp comes from the gulf of mexico and that oil spill is gonna contaminate seafood harvested in that area for a long time....

Funny because I used to love those little shrimp, now, no way!

Two things:

I just ordered some of that fake King Prawn Shrimp from www.vegecyber.com. Has anyone had it? I'll let ya know what i think after I have it. I actually ordered a "Fake Seafood Sampler".

Also, for those of you who miss BBQ (I do), I take the Seitan chick'n or beef strips, marinate them and stir fry them right on the grill with some veggies. Sunday I used Buffalo Wing sauce on the chik'n with some vidalia onions. It was out of this world. I ate the leftovers the next day on top of vegetarian baked beans. Yummers!!!

For me, I love the smell of BBQ because of the different types of wood used. Mesquite, hickory, etc. all give off such different smells and that's what I think draws me to the smell so much. Corn and even pineapple on the grill is awesome too.

"Now listen, I know you've got to think about your image, 'cause image is important to you, because of course your friends are gonna dictate your actions through the rest of your lives, and I wouldn't want you to step away from them and become an individual, that would almost be too much!"...

I'm not sure about that, mine seems to be much more fulfilling when I haven't been able to stop myself!

Back before I became vegetarian myself, I went to a bbq and the host said she had bought some fish for the vegetarians (there were 5), all of whom ate the fish.... There were alternatives eg bread and salads, which is what I would have stuck to nowadays, but back then unfortunately I ate a sausage I did feel sick all night though. Serves me right!
