Hi, Rhode Islander here! Thought I'd give a post.. All those other states have so many. But none of them eat gravy with their pasta.

Garden Grille is great. It's on the Borderline of Providence and Pawtucket.

As a matter of fact i'm going there with a friend on Wednsday to meet her veggie crew for dinner, so if anyone would like to meet me and some other veggies in the area please let me know !! it's this Wednsday at 6:30 ! looking forward to at least seeing someone ....

Hi,

I'll be in Middletown, RI for the day tomorrow. Any restaurant or health food store recommendations?

Thanks!

I hardly ever go that way, Trivegelete, and honestly there isn't much around there. the only place i found is a health food store in Newport, which is right next to Middletown

Harvest Natural Foods

1 Casino Terrace

401-846-8137

Hours: Monday to Saturday 9 am to 7 pm

Sunday 11 am to 5 pm

Natural Foods Store and Lunch Counter. Organic produce. Vegan options. Not pure veg.

Menu: Take-out meals at a lunch counter. All the soups are vegan. Vegetarian BLT, soups, vegan muffins, salads, pastas, stir-fries, hummus and veggie sandwiches.

Other Info: Counter service, take-out. Non-smoking. Accepts AMEX, DIS, MC, VISA. Price: $.

Directions: From I-95, take Rte 4 coming south or Rte 1 coming north, then go east on Rte 138 for 9 mile. Go over Jamestown Bridge and then Newport Bridge. After Newport bridge, take first exit, the Rte 238 S exit towards Scenic Newport and turn right onto Rte 138A (Rte 238, JT Connell Hwy) and it becomes Farewell St, at Thames St make a slight right and go a block. At Memorial Blvd turn left and go ¾ mile, at Bellevue Ave turn right and go a quarter-mile to Casino Terrace where you turn left into the Bellevue Shopping Center. It is a little past the Tennis Hall of Fame.

no problem. also if you are at Garden Grille take a ride (or walk) down Blackstone Blvd, it's pretty sweet. it will be across the street from the plaza you'll be on - you'll see it it's all green. and if you do that and stay on that street until the end (like 5 minutes, maybe more if the lights are red) you'll hit two health stores that are less than a block away from each other. East Side Marketplace and Whole Foods.

Thanks Vicky!

I love the beach, so I am hoping to get up early in the am and workout on the beach or walk it and have a coffee and also finish my nights off by the water.

CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Any suggestions on the best beaches??

narragansett beach is nice. take 95 south, exit 8 (there must be some kind of a sign) and stay on there for a while, at least 25 minutes. i'm not so good at giving percise directions, i reccomend looking up a map or just following everyone else, pretty easy to get to. it's about 40-45 minutes from providence without traffic. anything closer sucks. and there is this castle-looking place there, where the cafe/restaurant has some veggie options.

Hey - I actually live in CT just over the border, but I have friends in Prov, so I'm up that way all the time! Ever come down to Crazy Burger to eat?
