I was doing my own thing quietly and YOU are the one who created this post trying to make a big deal out of it. Keep flaming the fire. That must be what you want.

I can tell you that different brands do taste different, some tasting more nutty than cheesey and some tasting very cheesy. As far as which brand tastes which way, I unfortunately have not kept track. It seems like flake form is better than powder form too.

I buy Red Star when I can't get to a store that sells it in bulk. The closest store is an hour away. I do prefer the Red Star but the bulk kind certainly makes the grade, so there isn't enough of a difference to make me buy Red Star, which is more expensive and I can only get it online.

I can't tell Red Star from Kal-- I like them both

I think it was a canister of KAL that I first tried and disliked. The nutritional yeast I had was really nutty and not cheesy at all.

I've only ever tried Lewis Labs, which was awesome and full of amino acids (i.e. protein) and vitamins and minerals compared to others I've looked at. Sadly, I just called them to see about shipping overseas and was told their supplier is not growing it anymore! Now I need a new one in France!!

I buy the bulk stuff from Whole Foods, but half the time the nooch bin is nearly empty.

Now that sleepydvdr changed her posts and I have no idea who's been flaming...seems kinda weird. But...

I get Red Star packaged in different sized tubs in my nfs fridge. I like that because I don't use a whole lot.

I found by accident that I like the powdered better than the flakes! Don't know why, it may be just that my taste changed when I happened to pick up the wrong kind.

It's supposed to be more concentrated, but I'm using the same amount.
