how long to soak dates?

How long should dates be soaked for use in blended recipes such as raw puddings?

I just made raw chocolate pudding but the dates didn't blend very well (i.e. there was lots of chunks). I only soaked them for about 30 minutes. It still tasted good though

I don't think you should soak dates....

they might leave mad and not call again....

Just kidding!

I suggest splitting them and removing the pit before you soak them. The time frame you soaked them in should be suffice. A Vita-Mix really comes in handy in these situations.
