Fatire

Hey does anyone know what's in the dough for fatire? I can't find a recipe anywhere. They are so popular here and it would be a great lunch for me if they are egg-free.

Anyone?

Yeah, I thought I had heard of a lot of foods... I've even heard of natto, but that's a new one to me.

Ahhhh.... Thanks, that helps.

Saje, search the net for "fatayer" (or "Lebanese Spinach Pies"). Most of the recipes I found have milk in the dough, but not eggs.

Thanks! The stuff I've been buying comes in potato or... meat but the fatayer recipes look similar. Maybe I should find the woman that makes them. That would be smart...

I think I've seen them made with filo (phyllo), which is often vegan. Or you could just find a vegan pastry recipe somewhere and add a spinach filling (w garlic, onions, olive oil). I'm pretty sure I've done this before.
