We used to have one of these, now I don't know where it is and the search function is basically telling me to screw off because 'last' and 'fm' are too short to be searched for.

might as well post a new one!

It's funny. I had actually closed my last.fm account. Then I really missed seeing my trends. I think it's neat to know stuff like that. So I started a new one last summer.

i've debated about 'reset' option and whatever. i thought since maybe because i've had this same account as long as i've had this VB account, which is a lot of time, i should start fresh and erase my 15 year old tastes to be replaced with my 22 year old tastes. but then i decided no, because the artists who are a big deal to me now show up and there isn't really anything i'm ashamed of on there anymore. i love the last.fm data! i love watching my tastes change and fluctuate over time, i like being able to go through and say, man, i just read this really sad old journal entry of mine from the week of my 17th birthday, what was i listening to then? (lots of Cannibal Ox, apparently) or, "what was i listening to before i went to the best concert of my life?" i last.fm. the more and more i pour into it, the better it's getting. my suggested artists are getting better and better, the more i use the site.

do you guys use the 'events' function much? a lot of shows i've been to i can't find/remember where they were, or whatever, but i still think it's cool. i mean, under my 2010 tab, this is what i've got:

My Last.fm is terrible at showing what I listen to, since I have a Zune and the two don't sync the play counts. The only time I scrobble is when I remember to enable Zuse Me and the Last.Fm scrobbler, which from the looks of it, I've left it on this past week.

I love mine too. It's the first mp3 player I've ever had. And even after being dropped countless times, chewed on by bunnies, and been spilled on, it still does it's job like a good little Zune.

well that's a lot of plays. i only have one artist over a thousand plays, and that's the smiths.

there is a hack/badge/whatever last.fm calls it where you can find out who is your top artist in terms of time spent listening, not just the amount of scrobbles, which makes a little more sense. i mean, i can listen to judy is a punk 39789475 times, but does that mean i spend most of my time listening to the ramones? no.

you can also find out what albums you listen to the most of.

my past week



i'm having some serious beef with iTunes lately, because everytime there is a 'software' update i have to reinstall the plugin. it's like SHUT UP itunes! isn't it obvious that i want this plug in? so i'm missing a crap ton of scrobbles whatever. i'm listening to the same lana del rey song over and over because i'm gonna sing that song so good at the gaybar it's not even funny how melodramatic that song is.

I made a new one in December because the stupid scrobbler thing wouldn't work with my iPod anymore.

It's still being temperamental.

how on earth do you rack up that many plays!??!!?!?!??!

i only have two artists over a thousand plays (and barely over a thousand at that) and i've had this scrobbler since 2005!

but i guess i haven't had a computer that whole time, and i do listen to a lot of music on things that are unscrobbleable -- my walkman and turntable, mainly.
