Duggars' Mom, Michelle, Thinks Overpopulation Is A Lie

Michelle Duggar, star of TLC's reality show, "19 Kids and Counting", says there needs to be more children because our world needs more joy. And as for overpopulation? That's just a lie, Duggar recently told the Christian Broadcasting Network in a web interview. "The idea of overpopulation is not accurate," Duggar says, because the entire population of the world could fit inside of Jacksonville, Florida.
"I agree with Mother Teresa when she said, 'to say that there are too many children is like saying there are too many flowers,'" Duggar said.

Today I learned all the millions of children in the world who don't have access to food, clean water or proper medical care are like flowers. Starving, miserable flowers.

Which isn't caused by overpopulation per se.

And what a surprise she doesn't understand how many people are supposed to fit where...

The Jacksonville thing is basically just if everyone stood shoulder to shoulder with no room whatsoever and covered every square inch of ground possible. So, realistically speaking, BEEEEP, WRONG ANSWER.

Yeah, I don't understand what point she's even trying to make with that statement

Complete with vegan, vegetarian, and omni options.

But with excellent sewage treatment, water use shouldn't be too bad for the city - just reuse the waste water.

Wow I wish I could cram the entire population of the world, except for me, into Texas.

I'm no fan of the Duggars but trying to restrict women's reproductive choices on the basis of "overpopulation" is far more morally repugnant than what the Duggars are doing. These anti-reproductive choice and anti-child threads make me sick.

I don't think anyone's actually trying to restrict reproduction, just pointing out that overpopulation is a problem. Which it is.

Some people just like to feel sick, it gives them a way to flaunt their superior morals.

Me too. When did having children become gross?

Yeah, now I'm confused. Was someone in this thread advocating taking away people's right to breed?

Not outright... yet. But usually that's the direction the overpopulation threads go.
So far, this thread just tries to shame/ostracize/insult/attack people who choose to have many biological children.

I was poking fun at how illogical her statement about the entire population of the world fitting into Jacksonville was, but whatever floats your boat. You can question someone's logic about breeding without trying to implement a one child policy worldwide
