Rush Limbaugh blasted for ‘slut’ comment

Quote:
Rush Limbaugh is under fire for calling a Georgetown University law student who testified on Capitol Hill about contraception a prostitute and a slut.
What does it say about the college co-ed Sandra Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex? What does that make her? Limbaugh said on his radio show on Wednesday. It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. Shes having so much sex she cant afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. What does that make us? Were the pimps.

Wow, just wow.

Does this man even know how hormonal birth control works? Is he aware that you take the same amount every day and how much sex you have doesn't even matter? Is he aware that Fluke wanted to speak because her friend experienced complications from ovarian cysts that could have been prevented if she had had better access to hormonal birth control?

Rush Limbaugh doesn't seem to have a problem with viagra being covered by US health insurance, he was detained with a bunch of it on his way to the Dominican Republic, a place notorious for its sex trade: http://www.cbsnews.com/2100-201_162-1753947.html

But I suppose it would be silly if someone called him a slut, only women who want basic access to health care are sluts

He's like the Westboro Baptist Church and just enjoys when people get offended.

I wouldn't mind if there weren't so many people apparently agreeing with him

Yeah maybe there could still be a way to salvage the minds of some of those people; Rush himself is utterly beyond rescue though.

I am shocked at what I've just read. Since I've never watched Rush, I'm not used to his vitriol, and I'm completely flabbergasted that he still has an audience that would put up with this crap.

I am so infuriated over this. The fact that he has fans that agree with him is downright frightening.

Limbaugh's mission in life is to come up with the most outrageous and offensive statements he can think of because he knows it will get him the attention he craves and that there are lots of idiots out there who will actually agree with him. And then in private he can laugh his ass off all the way to the bank.

I'm not really particularly shocked or amazed by this.

It's Rush Limbaugh.

I mean..he says stuff like this pretty much every time he opens his mouth and has for years.

I thought Limbaugh took an exodus out of the country to Costa rica?
No...that was just him blowing hot air.

To be fair, most of my liberal friends who swear they will for real go to Canada next time a Republican gets elected never do, either.

For my part I never make any such silly claims. I intend to stay and fight - such as it is.

I don't know if coming to Canada would do much good anymore, our prime minister is doing everything he can to turn us into a clone of the US

I actually considered that. He really didn't seem completely sober to me.

Most definitely. There's no question that Limbaugh says inflammatory things to make people angry and get attention, I just wonder if he believes the crap he spews on some level or if it's entirely an act? It's so hard to tell, especially when he has followers who seem to believe it completely. We have reached a point where the lines between parody and reality are getting blurrier and blurrier.

What a disgusting thing to say.

He's a monster. And people drink his koolaid.

He's an entertainer folks. Whether he believes it or not is irrelevant.

But the worst thing you can do is "feed the fire" and start threads about him.

After al,l no publicity is bad publicity
Happiness is not the result of a mathematical equation comparing the good times and bad times someone has had. It is a state of mind.

For me, this has surpassed his normal douchery and completely crossed the line. He should go the way of Don Imus.

Wonder how many of his fans have wives on the Pill? I'll bet most of them.

No love for Rush, but if you have to talk for 3 hours a day, then obviously you're going to say some idiotic stuff (or in Rush's case 'more idiotic than usual stuff').

Idiotic is taking Numerical Solutions to Elliptic Equations, this is misogynistic. And not even the sort of misogyny where the backlash is dismissed by right wingers as political correctness gone mad.
This is hilariously hypocritical considering his own track record of shady personal activities.

It's idiotic and misogynistic. Idiodic, because he seems to think that the more sex you have the more pills you need.

What's funny yet sad is that if you look under articles about this, there's so many morons thinking the woman is talking about condoms.

People shouldn't be fired for what they say when no one is forced to listen to their shows.

Maybe not, but all of his sponsors should withdraw and force his exit.
