Digestion Issues

Thread Starter
My wife has been a vegetarian for about 3 years now. She has had a lot of problems with digesting certian foods after about the first year. Things like salad and anything with tomatoes causes her to have really bad stomache bloating and discomfort. I believe because of her limited diet, she is missing important enzimes that aid in normal digestion. Are there any tips on what she can do to improve this?

Thanks.

She should keep a food diary and avoid the foods that give her trouble. No reason she has to eat salad or tomatoes. There are some online sites that allow you to track the nutritional value of your diet. http://www.sparkpeople.com/landing_s...FSgEQAod2mgxrQ

She could possibly try sage leaf or perhaps ginger, as both are excellent for indigestion. Perhaps a probiotic may be needed.

Does she get enough fat? Fiber? Water?
