What do you put in Christmas stockings?

Do you do stockings? We do them most years and I really enjoy them. We put 7 small things in there and open 1 each day the week before xmas.

I find I need to fill them gradually b/c I can't necessarily think of gifts all at once. I mix a few silly things in there with cool stuff.

This yr I put in--
-dehydrated snack for hiking
-a protein bar
-special hangers for the garage
-an ornament
-crossword puzzle book
-socks

I can't even remember what else is in there.

In our family we usually fill them with extra yummy candies, small bags of nice coffee, or tea samplers. In the past few years we've been occasionally putting ornaments or booster packs for card games and stuff in there too.

I really like this idea!

Every year we used to get a chocolate orange, lottery tickets, fuzzy socks or slippers, a puzzle book, and a twin bear.

I put goodies candy, gum and other treats in it

I wrap up a few DVD's and CD's and put them in there

We get other small stuff that will gets lost in the hussle and bussle of the holidays.

Gift cards

I used to have a stocking for my cats but since the move i don't know where they are at, so I got them small stocking each and I got them some toys and wrapped them up and put them in the stocking and then hung the small stockings on the tree.

It varies each year what we put in the stockings

We usually open our stockings after we open our normal gifts first on Christmas day or the day we celebrate Christmas.

Candy, candy, and more candy (hey, it's Christmas),sample size toiletries, gift cards or money, and a few silly things for fun. I once put a bottle of my daughter's favorite hot ketchup along with a bottle of hot sauce.

We have a tradition where we put an orange at the bottom. Other things are just small toys, treats, tools...

My mom always put an orange and an apple in the bottom when we were kids. I can still remember the wonderful smell of the fruit along with peppermint sticks. Good memories.

She decided to discontinue the fruit when my brother was too lazy to empty his stocking and left the orange and apple sitting in the bottom for a looong time and, well, let's just say it wasn't pretty.

My parents used to do the orange , apple and sometimes bannanas LOL. Then other goodies when I started with my husband i tried it and then we ended up juicing them anyhow, that reminds me we have a fruit and veggie market down the road, I might ask him to take me down here for a few more last min goodies, we are celebrating Christmas next weekend at our house.

I put an apple or orange down in the toe. Then, fill with peanuts, each persons favorite candy, and little things that I have picked up for each person.

Any little non-expensive gifts. We used to get chocolate, stationery, bath products, whatever other little things. A few years ago I decided it was time to start returning the favour. My mum and dad both have their stockings filled by me now. I still need to go buying little gifts for them this year. So far I have cheater chopsticks (with a little spring thing in them) and a jar of piccalilli for my dad. I will buy them both chocolate/sweets and probably some jewellery or lip balm for my mum. Maybe a nice smelling soap for my dad too.

I am hoping to get fruit, nuts and candy.

Christmas feet LOL (I think she means because they're Christmas stockings. What do you put in a stocking? Feet.)
