Do Boca Chickn Patties Taste Like Real Chicken Patties?

I've heard really good things about this product and in general I've heard that faux chicken patties are much better than the burgers. How do they compare to a normal frozen chicken patty?(something I used to love)

I had chick-less patties that tasted so much like real chicken I spit out my first bite and checked the box to make sure I bought the right ones. Yup, 100% vegan. It freaked me out just enough that I never bought them again. Imagine that, losing a sale because they were "too good."

I can't remember the brand name tho...

IMO, they taste just like chicken used to taste. They taste even more like the real thing when baked, fried or grilled since they tend to get mushy in the microwave.

Some of the Boca chicken patties are vegan, some are not.

I've bought "chik'n" patties and nuggets long before quitting meat. My kids and I prefer them. Boca has vegan chik'n patties, and Gardein nuggets are amazing! My wholesale club started stocking these. The directions only say to bake them, but I think they're best (and quicker) pan fried. I defrost them first. I love these with hot sauce.

Of course the best thing is you don't any nasty surprises like you did with meat. My son was turned off by chicken at an early age.

They taste pretty close, the texture is a little softer in the center than real chicken, but it's good. I like Quorn Chik'n personally, but it's not vegan. In the oven, gets crispy

^Thanks- I've changed it from "Quorn" to what I meant-Gardein Seven Grain nuggets.

I've never had Quorn chik'n before, but I was calling it that!

I also want to add Morningstar chikn grillers are vegan. They're not breaded and really good direct subsitutions.

You can get the Boca ones crispy too. When I make them, I put them in my toaster oven and cook them til they are heated all the way through. Once they're done, I put the heat up to broil and leave them for a few minutes. They crisp up really nicely.

Those are wonderful. They melt in your mouth. I wish they were a bit thicker though but I love the texture. Only one of my local stores carries them and they're expensive but whenever I have coupons I grab them. It'd be nice if the turkey ones were vegan.

I've baked them before and they don't get quite as crispy. They're still good. Maybe I'll buy some and try them in under the broiler

They taste exactly the same to me.

The Gardein ones are good. My favorite of the nugget category. I've had the Cluckphreys ones as well, and they're decent, but kinda mushy in the center (even after they've been baked for 25 mins), so I dont really like the texture.

Love the Boca Spicy Chickn patties! WF sells the vegan ones. YAY!

I bought some Lightlife chickn strips. Made a quesadilla with daiya and some medium salsa. Yum! They would be delicious in a Chipotle burrito too. I actually like the Lightlife better than Gardein.

I can't say if they taste like chicken but I know they taste good to me. My omni husband says they are good but not exactly like chicken. I know they are different than chicken because I don't have to worry about pieces of bones or animal parts that are in real chicken patties and used to gross me out before I went veg.

I really like the Boca nuggets. I haven't tried the Boca patties, but I'll have you to know that even my fried-chicken loving mother thought they tasted good! I love Boca nuggets plain or with some bbq sauce. To me they taste and even to some extent, smell like chicken. One thing Boca did really well was try to mimic the texture of chicken nuggets. Now if only more of Morningstar Farms products were vegan...

Boca patties over Gardein patties but Gardein nuggets over Boca nuggets, it is a texture thing. Boca patties with avocado & tomato...Boca wraps with veggies...Boca, tomato & Veganese...Boca with honey mustard & pickle. The best Boca patties are the ones on sale, 2 boxes for $5!

Morningstar chik patties, fried in cold-pressed extra virgin coconut oil over a low heat until very brown and crunchy, are not to be confused with the animal food known as 'chicken.' The chik patties are much better than that, as best as I can remember. . .

I like the Boca patties and Quorn very much (going vegan, I guess I am going to have to cut out Quorn). I used to eat Morningstar products until I found out they use GMOs.
I've tried every brand i could find and by far the best in my opinion is Quorn. They are awsome. I miss them since going vegan.

Love Boca chicken patties, nuggets and vegan burgers. Hands down the best meatless patties I've tried. Their breakfast links are good too, but I don't think those are vegan.

I've tried the Quorn crumbles and they were completely tasteless. Are all their products similar in taste? I'm hesitant to try anything else since I just ended up throwing out the crumbles.

I like that the quorn crumbles aren't flavorful... they just taste like whatever you flavor them with. Sometimes faux meats are over-spiced, so you can't use them in other dishes well.

I dunno, a liltte flavor is nice. The Quorn reminded me of soggy cardboard. (I often snack on wet cardboard, so I know...lol)

The Quorn nuggets and breaded cutlets are better, in my opinion b/c they have some flavor. I am not a fan of the plain cutlets, but I guess it does depend on how you are preparing them.

I personally don't like the crumbles, I don't like the texture or taste. The chik'n is much better, especially the breaded stuff I use them in recipes so they take on the flavor of the sauces I use. They have flavor on their own, but work exactly like chicken. Chicken by itself isn't very flavorful. Last night I used the tenders and made Bourbon Chik'n.

for crumbles i like Yves meatless ground (not sure if they are vegan)

I have Quorn Chick'n nuggets (bought them for the man we/he haven't tried them yet)

but I LOVE gardein Chicken tenders.. SO SO GOOD! He really likes them too, so i dunno if i would say they taste "just like" chicken but they certainly worked for him (the first faux meat stand alone product he has liked)

I have tried a LOT of products i don't like. too bad no one lives in this area.. I would get rid of the stuff for you to try!

yea the Quorn crumbles aren't very good unless you season them right. All of the chicken wannabes though such as patties, nuggets, cutlets are very good. I just wish they would make a vegan option.
