Before you know it, all companies will go over to the dark side.

What's safe now? I know Everyday Minerals is.

Tarte and too faced are still good, aren't they?

I think so. I don't buy either.

Yup, urban decay has made me never want to buy another one of their products. What's still safe for now is tarte and Josie maran. I also am looking heavily at 100% pure and obsessive compulsive cosmetics. I just don't trust large makeup companies anymore, they are all moving to china for profit. Argh.

Yay, you're posting!!! :)

I decided to give EDM another try since I still have a bunch of sample sizes. It made my skin glow. I was going to just cave and get MAC, but I'd rather not considering what they pulled in China.

Yeah when they re-did the format of this site I couldn't figure out my password again. Lol finally I went to try and log back in and it remembered my password. yay!

Yeah MAC and UD are no longer on my buy list. Which stinks because I quite liked both brands. Well I am glad you found edm worked for you, that foundation was horrible on me. Using a Josie maran one right now that is my fave. smiley.gif

I don't like how much EDM has changed over the years. They've gotten rid of a lot of great colors and formulas.

UD and Mac were my 2 favorite. Makes me so mad what they did!

Edm definitely isn't a fave of mine either. They are right up there with UD and MAC for me, except they screwed their loyal customers in a different way, I find it best not to get attached to any of them now. Does EDM still have your o-glo foundation color?

No, it looks like they're doing away with O-Glo now.

Are you going to stock up or find some other brand?

They don't have my color anyway. I've been using Semi-Matte and it works fine. They have a new "IT" formula I may try. I have at least another month or two worth of foundation left. I'll start looking soon.

I don't know if ya'll have seen this yet, but I got a kick out of it and wanted to share. :D

Geeky, nerdy, vegan makeup:

Woohoo!

I really like the eye shadows inspired by Legend of Zelda and Hunger Games. I'll also admit, I actually laughed out loud when I saw what the finishing powder was called.

Edit with a question:

Can anyone reccomend a good (affordable) tinted moisturizer? I was looking at e.l.f, since I'm told their products are vegan. Unfortunately, it's not sold here and I'm pretty iffy about ordering colors online.

I thought I'd add these because I stumbled across them and thought they were so cool! Lip Tattoos from Violent lips! I was surprised to look further into them in their "About" section and find out they were vegan (don't know their ingredients though) and cruelty free! They last about 5 hours Don't know how eco friendly though :/

While I am glad they are not, I am not feeling so good about what happened. They showed that they could possibly give up their whole company stance for extra money. I won't be buying from them anymore just for when they do make the jump into animal testing, I won't have any of their products.

It's sad to see this happen. I feel bad for the people in China who oppose animal testing, yet their country requires its useless and painful practice.

agreed. I have to say that this whole china thing has shown me how many companies are actually over there. It seems like only a few major brands are safe for us and indie companies are the way to go.

Very true. I wish I didn't feel like I needed makeup. It would save me time and money.

Hey,

I've been looking at the nail polish I've had home for years and I have several from Sally Hansen... I always thought they were a major testor, but when I visited their website today it said that they don't test the finished product or the ingredients on animals?!? So is this maybe like a recent thing!?!

I'm not sure how recent it is, but my mother was telling me about it

awhile ago.

That wording always led me to believe that while they don't test (Sally Hansen), the ingredients they use may be tested on.

I'm thinking about going through all of my makeup and either giving it away or selling most of it. I rarely use any of the 100 eyeshadows I have or different blushes. Or I need to get to pressing. I know I'd use them more if they were pressed.

Can anyone recommend some good vegan matte eyeshadows? blush.gif
