New Zealand Bread brands that I can find that are vegan?

Hi im living in New Zealand and I always spot brands like bakers delight and tip top however bakers delight confirmed that most of their bread isnt suitable for vegans or even vegeterians for that matter so that was suprising, I think they use egg/gelatine and some animal emusifilers. What brand of breads do you buy and which brand would be the safest option for me?

I think pams brand bread is ok, but most bread has got milk/egg. It sucks cos we cant eat vogels. I remember I used to get one that countdown supermarket made that was vegan. You just have to get diligent about reading labels. Sorry I cant be more helpful, I dont eat bread very often and when i do its home made. Home made is the best way, its made with love!

I only eat homemade now but I used to eat supermarket breads and there were quite a few that were vegan...... And are you sure about bakers delight.... I checked a few months ago and all their basic breads (wholemeal, white etc) were completely vegan. Unless its changed.... what was your source? (curiosity)

From memory pams was vegan, as was homebrand and I think tip top might have been as well. The quickest and easiest way to check is to read the allergen warning underneath the ingredients... contains dairy or egg etc. Then read the list properly if its clear......

Sorry I'm not of more help

i lost part of my breadmaker so have been eating store bread. Tip Top honey grain is vegan (depending which side of the honey debate you're on), as are there other wholegrain ones. Not sure about the white stuff because I don't eat it.

Pams is as well, and I think most of them probably are

No, it is not.

As for bread in general, I tend to buy ploughman's or similar brands to that and they are all vegan according to the labelling.

is it only not vegan because of the honey or is its emusifiers not vegan? and have you contacted ploughmans to make sure its vegan?

http://www.ploughmansbakery.co.nz/

The last question in the FAQ confirms they use plant emulsifers.

If you know the score, why don't YOU contact them, instead of waiting for Larissa to do your work.
