Best way to freeze bananas?

I just bought a bunch of bananas to make smoothies with and I'm wondering what the best way to freeze them is. Any suggestions?

1-peel first

2-put in freezer bag or vacuum seal bag

3-put in freezer

I froze mine with the skin on...I think it works better if you peel first.

I slice them up first, then freeze them.

I always peel first.



then break into manageable chunks - easier for the blender to handle a 3 inch chunk of frozen banana than the whole frozen thing.



ziplock baggie - toss in the freezer.

i like to peel them, cut or break them into small chunks, and lay them on a cookie sheet or in a shallow bowl. if they're touching each other when you put them in there, they'll be frozen together when you get them out. that might not be so bad if they're just for smoothies though. but it used to bother me. :/

I freeze them on a cookie sheet, then toss in a bag. That said, my new favorite frozen banana treet, is chocolate covered bananas on a stick. Had one today and thought I was in heaven!

Oh wow, I totally forgot about chocolate covered frozen nanners!

I'm with the break into chunks and toss in a bag crowd.

i freeze them whole, then to defrost and use i run them under the tap, then cut them into quarters lengthwise, and score and slice off the skin.

slice in chunks, toss in tupperware, freeze.

I don't like mine sticking together so i peel, cut into chunks and put into an ice cube tray (one chunk per cube space) and freeze over night, then take out and put in a baggie.



I don't have the room for a baking sheet and I find the ice trays take up little room and still let them freeze separately.

I peel, wrap in clingfilm, then freeze.



I don't often blend them or anything when I take them out- just eat them, so I don't need to cut them into pieces.

I peel them and freeze them whole. I cut them up into chunks before I use them for smoothies.

I chopped mine up into a few segments (with the peel off) and put them into a tupperware before freezing. Worked great!
