artisticone hi everyone!! my name is Shanitra & I'm from NC. I've recently taken on the vegetarian lifestyle. I do however know one other in my senior class who is following this same path. I'm doing it for my health and for the animals. I mean, humans aren't even carnivores. If you compare our teeth to a lion or a bear you would clearly see the difference. Our bodies aren't capable of handling meat the way other animals are. Take a lion for example, his diets is based solely on meat, and the Vitamin C that it's body needs but can get from meat, is produced internally in his body due to evolution. Simba can eat all the meat he wants, and he'll never suffer from clogged arteries. Humans on the other half....well, do I even need to say it . The list of health problems caused by animal-products goes on & on. Scientists also say that there is only a 1.5% difference b/w humans and chimps, and a chimp's diet contains about a pea-size of meat. The rest of their diet is from fruits & veggies. No media wants to challenge the meat industry though and tell the truth about its products, I mean look what happened to Oprah way back when.

Sorry guys I didn't mean to write a book, but this is a tidbit of how I feel about the whole situation. I really like that vegetarianteen site & this board is the icing on the cake. talk to some of you guys later.

i just thought this was cute >>>
