I found the Impossible Burger mingling with ground beef! Someone who doesn't pay attention to labels could conceivably buy and cook it without much more than a "mmmm, there's something different about that burger...and it's awfully lean"
I tried the Beast burger and there was something about it I didn't care for. My son loved it

I've only had the Beyond Meat burger - I think its called the Beast or something like that. I've been looking for the Impossible Burger for a while but I haven't seen it in any of the stores I usually go to.
But during BBQ season I tried lots of these patties and I did like Beyond Meat the best. Field Roast was pretty good too. but about the only one I would regularly eat might be Dr. Praegers. Doesn't look and taste like a beef burger, but if fits on a bun and is the healthiest of the bunch.

I like the Beyond Meat burgers when I have a craving, but they are so full of oil I try to stay away.I am working on a WFPB version at home, no oil. It would be great if they came up with a less fattening one!

|silva||I had the Impossible burger, and it wasn't 'bloody', but it was incredibly good! You (I?) could tell it wasn't ground meat, but it had the density, and a similar juiciness to it that you don't get with whole plant foods. It's expensive but something I would love to get at a good restaurant!|

|Tom||I wouldn't be grossed-out by a "bloody"- looking burger, so long as no animals were harmed in the making of it... but for me, how it looks is the last thing on my list of food desires- way down below nutrition, ethics, flavor, texture, aroma, and cost. I've been quite happy with the veggie burgers I've had, even the ones that aren't convincingly "meaty" at all. A truly juicy veggie burger would be nice though.|

I've seen beet burgers in recipe blogs. They look a bit red and bloody, because beetroot (see below). I find that quite funnt as they're not really even trying to be meat, it's just veg. Like peeled grapes aren't really trying to be eyeballs at Halloween and everyone knows it. It's just kid level 'eew'.
No objection to a mock meat that 'bleeds' in principle, but I really don't see the point in deliberately making a product that genuinely pretends to bleed blood if it brings nothing else to the table (great pun right? ;-P ) The mock meat frozen quarter-pounder burgers I get from the super market are 'juicy' like a burger once cooked, and perfect for it. That adds something. But it's brown juicy, not bloody red.
