Less after giving up dairy completely. My DR thinks it was soy causing it but it definitely got better without dairy.
Activated charcoal is great for treating wind, especially the type made from coconut (the type of charcoal made from coconut not the type of wind .

Only if I eat sweets with regular meals.
Otherwise, very little, and I eat huge amounts of beans and cruciferous veggies.
I've been vegetarian for forty-six years, so i guess my system has had time to adjust.

Yeah, I hate the stereotypes too. I was trying to make a joke with the T-shirt.

|Capstan||In the '60s and '70s, NASA used the principle of the fart to fuel the Apollo Lunar Vehicles, which allowed them to land on the moon. They substituted helium for methane to propel the hypergolic fuels into the combustion chamber, where they spontaneously ignited. Men actually farted their way to the lunar surface.|

No. Beans have never made me fart. Beef (as in "to beef", it's own slang for fart), and eggs, made me fart, yet I get that joke everytime. When I ask when have I farted after beans? they know I don't, they just know it's funny to say that. Ha. Ha. Ha-no it's not
I hope you get asked about where you get your protein every single day of your life, buy multiple people

|jaskins||It's only been a few days that I've been back on the veg*n wagon but I have definitely noticed I am more, *ahem*, regular. Maybe not extra gassy, but when it's time to go, it is ~*~*time to go*~*~|

I went veg so long ago, I honestly can't say.
(But yep- this thread is fun. And I think I am more gassy than average, but I'm not sure.)

I have not farted more than before I went vegetarian.
But I've got Crohn's disease. So I really can't tell. I fart a lot. End of story

This thread is amazing.
I rarely fart and never burp, even since I've been pregnant. I feel like I'm missing out on comedic gold!

|etherea||Hahahaha! I always revert to this thread when in need of a good laugh! Childish I know but, what the hell, whatever lights your candle and all that. Oh that's just reminded me of a story told by Spike Milligan about lighting farts and the army. Anyway my husband reckons I sound exactly the same as an old motor bike we used to have starting up!|

When I went veggie I farted my arse inside out for ages much to the displeasure of my husband. Then I went vegan and it calmed down - I do fart quite a bit but it's not the terrible scruffy ordeal it was whilst veggie. Think I might have been lactose intolerant and the massive increase in cheese from going veggie was the culprit - havig said all of this I sh!t and fart quite allot because of the obscene about of fibre I get down!!
P.S. I just farted.

I find high carbed foods like bananas make you fart. Make sure you exercise if you are going to eat a large amount of bananas because otherwise you will end up farting your brains out.
High carbed foods are ideal for high performance thinking and working out. Make sure you eat these foods the smart way if you choose to do so.
Going for long runs in combination with bananas can work wonders in so many areas of your life.

|Island Sneezer||I voted no. I used to fart a LOT, loud and proud, but now I rarely fart since I went to an allergy specialist and cut all the foods I'm allergic to - soy, nuts, wheat, carrots, bananas, all artificial sweeteners, MSG - and switched to an organic whole foods diet. I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian.|

|violetdolphin55||I've found that my body is starting to get used to the larger amount of fiber. But with eating less dairy I'm definitely getting less gas as I'm lactose intolerant.|

|adun||I went vegan overnight about 10 days ago from an omni diet and I have also noticed a lot more farting and trips to the toilet. I have also quit drinking anything that is not water and funny I thought I'd be less gassy without all the coca-cola I used to drink. I suppose it will eventually stabilize.|

Pretty much everything we eat can cause gas, gradually increasing your intake helps. take notes of what you ate to eliminate what cause lots of gas for you, it might be beets, cabbage etc. Many people also have trouble with soy! For some drinking lots of water really helps too and many are saying apple cider and chamomile tea helps.
That said I remember farting a lot when I went vegan, horrible at first then it calmed down. I WAS eating way to much soy products I know it's a culprit to me so I ease on it a lot.

Vegans might catch you on that.
Its not long before vegans can tell the difference between broccoli, brussels sprouts, and cabbage farts... and who feeds their dog cabbage? :-P
