UK McDonalds have Vegetarian Society approved food items

In the UK (but not in the United States), McDonalds has food items that are officially approved by the Vegetarian Society:

UK McDonalds vegetarian entrees include the Vegetable Deluxe burger, the Spicy Vegetable Deluxe burger, bagels, and fries (chips).

About 15 years ago in the United States, McDonalds tried launching a vegetarian "McVeggie Burger", but apparently it didn't sell well enough.
