Any way to get over strep throat without meds?

I am not a doctor, nor do I have any medical training...however, I do not think strep throat will go away on it's own. You may feel better after a while but if I'm not mistaken the strep infection can cause other problems. I have heard that it can damage heart valves.

I came down with strep the day before I was supposed to fly back to the States a couple of years back. Landed in Green Bay on a holiday weekend w/ a 104 degree fever, no U.S. insurance (so I wasn't about to go to the ER), and all doctor's offices closed until the following Tuesday.
My sister ordered me to start taking colloidal silver, while my mother mandated 1000 mg of Vitamin C every two hours. Those two things, coupled with LOTS of sleep, made the fever break in about 36 hours, and by the time I could have gotten a doctor's appointment, I no longer needed one. (Unfortunately, by that time, my four-year-old nephew was coming down with the stuff and did require antibiotics to get over it.)

I saw on TV the other day how an untreated strep infection can cause systemic infections and eventually kill you.
I somehow think taking the meds would be worth it.

did they do a throat culture and find step? If it is truly strep infection NO it will not go away untreated, it can lead to further complications and possibly death.
i once cared for a young women who was not treated with antibiotics for her strep she ended up in a coma, brain damaged, and now lives in a facility for brain injured people.
take the antibiotics.

Strep infections cause lots damages in 3rd world countries. With 5-7 days of antibiotics you'll be fine. We see sometimes people with rheumatic fever and they are all the untreated ones. Rheumatic fever is a severe condition with damages that last life long.
Please take the antibiotics in this case.
One word of caution against antibiotics: they are often prescribed for people suffering from viral infections and then they are useless and totally unnecessary.
