Beagle and rabbit vivisection breeder facing closure in Finland

The governing body of the Karttula breeding facility, which produces hundreds of dogs and thousands of rabbits for vivisection industry, is deciding on 30th of August whether or not to close it down. Karttula facilitys owner, Kuopio University, is citing economic reasons and considering closing it down as part of a cost cutting exercise.

Please join us to urge the Kuopio University to put an end to the notorious breeding facility. Please sign our online petition at http://www.oikeuttae...http://www.oikeuttaelaimille.net/vetoomus/en/

Beagle dogs are kept in small concrete boxes. Rabbits in Karttula are bred in small cages mostly on wire mesh floor. The only escape from these horrific conditions is death, often though painful experiments which in some cases last for years.

Animal rights groups have campaigned against the breeding facility from when it was first opened with demonstrations, protest camps, petitions, public events and so on. Thousands of people have taken part in this campaign in one way or another.

Please sign the petition and forward this message to your local animal rights groups mailing lists and so on.

Kind regards,

Oikeutta Elaimille (Rights for Animals), Finland

Not that into online petitions but I signed because it only took a minute:)
Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals ... except the weasel.
