To anyone who might be interested - I received an email response today from a VP at Flowers Foods confirming that there are no animal-derived ingredients in Nature's Own 100% whole wheat bread. Good news since it can be hard to find an inexpensive "mainstream" bread that is vegan.

Great! It used to have whey, I believe - but I've noticed several mainstream breads don't seem to have either whey ro honey any longer.

That's awesome. A few weeks ago I asked if this bread was vegan on the yahoo questions site, but not one gave me a definitive answer.

Thank you for letting us know. I am happy since my supermarket pretty much only sells wheat bread with honey and/or dairy in it.

I had looked at it but was iffy on the mono/diglycerides. I was going to call them this week to check so thank you for doing the work for me.

Yeah, been eating it for a couple weeks now. Delish and cheaper than the alternatives. The kind I've been munching on has "Organic" plastered across the front too. Not sure if there is a non-organic, but don't have any real drive to find out!
