I just got an e-mail back from Gatorade that Propel Fit Water and Propel Fit Water with Calcium contain no animal by-products in any of the ingredients (I'm new to this so sorry if I should have been able to figure this out myself).

But it does contain Splenda, which was extensively tested on animals. I also think artificial sweeteners in general aren't good for you.

Are you sure about that? I have a bottle right here and it says that it has sucralose in it, but it doesn't say specifically that it is Splenda brand sucralose.

Also, does anybody know if Vitamin Water is okay?

Sucralose = Splenda, it's just the generic name for it. The testing for the safety of sucralose involved killing many animals (including beagle puppies who were forcefed the sweetener iirc), and overall, I still don't believe that artificial sweeteners are good for you. You'd do better drinking water for hydration, or water with electrolytes.

Here are some threads on Vitamin Water:

Interesting... not that my opinion counts, but my opinions on vitamin water, and Gatorade are not good.

Gatorade contains far too much sugar, and is just a candy drink. Most endurance athletes know that.

But I didn't know that about splenda. We don't eat it because it is probably more fit for killing weeds. But I am glad to know about animal testing.
