Go-to snacks?

I'm learning a few valuable lessons after my first week in transition: Always keep veg snacks around!

So far my arsenal includes:

1) bananas

2) dates

3) hummus and nut thin crackers

Post 'em up. Love to hear others must haves!

Fresh fruit- bananas, apples, kiwi, oranges. Nuts, almonds, walnuts, and cashews. Popcorn and vegan veggies chips when I need salt!

Also, I like to make a smoothie in the morning and freeze half of it for later in the day when I am sort of hungry.

Oh I like popcorn too when I can get it. I like it as a special treat though in movie theaters or bars. I have this weird deal with popcorn like I want it to be this old fashioned treat. I hated microwave popcorn even when I still ate butter. I guess if I go off and live in the woods I'll be forced to purchase an air popper.

It depends on what I am doing to if I let it thaw completely or eat it like a slushy. If at work, it sits until I have time to drink it, which is several hours and if at home I chip away at it, cause I don't like to wait! LOL! They are very good and super healthy. I really recommend them!

Hummus is good for dipping carrots, too.

Natural-type peanut butter, on whole wheat bread

Easy-and-filling sandwich: Sliced avocados, tomatoes, and pickles on whole wheat bread, with mustard

Small red- or yellow-skinned potatoes. Pierce skin with fork, cook in the microwave, eat with favorite sauce or a little salt.

Cans of vegetarian chili or lentil soup. Heat up and eat with pasta or corn.

Hummus is something I am learning to appreciate. I used to not care for the stuff, but lately I've been incorporating it into my meals.
