Unhappy Really bad acne after becoming?

I became vegetarian over in July and since then my face has broken out in lots of acne on both cheeks. I exercise and do yoga and most of my family is vegetarian so they make sure I eat and get what I need. But has this happened to anyone? Am I just detoxing or what? I've never had this much acne before

Maybe it's the dairy that makes you break out? Did you start eating more dairy?
I've never had any problems with acne either before or after going vegetarian.

My wife & daughter had bad acne for a couple of weeks after quitting meat. Then it cleared up.

Me & my son-in-law, both went veg*n & never had a problem.

Hang in there.....avoiding meat & dairy is healthier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All animals should be respected & should have the ability to lead a natural & enjoyable life. This means not eating them, or abusing them in any way.

Have you tried cutting out dairy? Or cutting back on sugar/ refined grains? Have you tried experimenting with soy vs. no soy?

I would think dairy or sugar. ..or you actually are missing something, try adding a supplement like flaxseed oil for omega 3s, make sure you get enough plant based fats, just make sure you aren't over-doing one thing or else being overly restrictive.

Also check skin care products, and hormones can act up around puberty, menstruation, or stress.

I've heard some people have this issue due to upping their soy intake, so that may be worth looking at if it's not dairy or sugar.

Also, consider giving your yoga mat a good scrubbing if you haven't in a while.

Acne are your body's attempt to get rid of unwanted toxins, you already know that.

I would like to ask you, what is your fat count in your diet? By fat, I refer to the fatty acids (Omega 3 and 6).
A fact I stumbled recently, is that the preferred ratio between omega 6 and omega 3 should range from 1:1 to 4:1.

Try experimenting.
For experiments, I use cronometer.com, payable app that helps you track nutrient intake. I believe there is a mobile version too (it's payable, though,)

First, try to balance your omega6/omega3 intake.
Give it a week.

Then, try hydration as well. Water plays huge roll in digestion and detoxification.

Also, another thing I recall is Zinc Deficiency.

While we vegans/vegetarians tend to eat a lot of fiber and phytates (which are healthy, of course), many of us don't know that it may lower zinc absorption in the body.

I hope this is helpful

I was born vegetarian. Am I Blessed?

No, seriously.

That's not true. Pimples are just pores blocked with oil and dead skin.
