As the star of the HBO smash series “Game of Thrones,” Peter Dinklage is accustomed to non-stop fighting on-screen. Yet fans may be surprised to learn the 43-year old actor, who’s been a vegetarian since age 16, fights off-screen as well for the rights of animals.
Dinklage, whose previous animal activism includes a PSA for PETA, is the newest national spokesperson for Farm Sanctuary’s Walk for Farm Animals campaign. The Emmy and Golden Globe award winner was drawn to the work because he feels “animals used for food are treated like unfeeling machinery.”
“Each year, billions of animals are subjected to cruelty on factory farms, feed lots, and slaughterhouses,” Dinklage says in a new PSA for the org. “The brutality that these animals endure would be grounds for felony cruelty charges if inflicted upon our cats and dogs.”
Farm Sanctuary will walk in 35 cities this fall to build community and raise awareness for the plight of farm animals everywhere. You can view Dinklage’s PSA for the charity below.
Cool, go Peter!

Awesome! I really like him and he does an amazing job playing Tyrion.
Seattle is doing it again this year and I signed up for a team this morning. I haven't done it before because I've always been busy with other stuff but this year I'm planning ahead.
There is a sleep-in for farm animals too! http://events.walkforfarmanimals.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.eventDetails&eventID=594
