I saw this posted somewhere else and thought it deserved its own thread. Someone mentioned the Kroger brand Worcestershire sauce is vegan. When I ran out of the brand I had bought at Whole Foods (Annie's?) I ran over to Kroger to check. Sure enough it is. And it's fairly cheap. I bought 6 bottles.
Just thought I'd post this for anyone else who might have trouble finding vegan Worcestershire sauce.
Kroger's Worcestershire sauce says "vegan" on the label? Because the Kroger's Worcestershire sauce I have says "natural flavors" as one of the ingredients, those "natural flavors" come from the anchovies they use....they just word it differently than "anchovies" on the flavor, but don't be mistaken...those flavors are derived from anchovies.

this thread is from 2008, so who knows if it changed?
Anchovies would need to be listed as an allergen, even if included in 'natural flavors"
