flax seeds are great in that you KNOW when they've gone rancid. They go RANCID. They loose their wonderful nutty taste and adapt a more death in a flavor taste.
Omega 3 is extremely important to your diet and has been known to help with things such as maintaining healthy weight, healthy brain function, energy levels, mental health (ie ward off depression), skin vitality and the list goes ON. Google it to find out more. I would definately definately recommend consuming flax seed on a regular basis--either as an oil or as a ground seed (whole seeds taste nice, but are a bit useless in that your digestive system can't open up the hull so you don't actually digest almost any of the omega-3s). Plus.. its tasty. On a side note, don't cook with flax seed oil: it shouldn't be heated past lukewarm.
