i was recently at wild oats and all they had was a giant bottle of non-organic. i'm asking because a pregnancy book i read suggested buying organic since the regular stuff might have a high concentration of pesticides, due to where the crops are grown...

To be honest, I don't think I've ever seen organic blackstrap molasses. I buy mine in bulk from a health food store, but it's not organic. I'd suggest asking Wild Oats whether they can order in some organic blackstrap molasses. No need to go back in -- just call them.

Trader Joe's sell organic blackstrap molasses (very cheaply). Unfortunately, if you don't live near one, they don't do internet ordering.

The Wild Oats store in Albuquerque has it in small bottles... maybe that isn't too helpful, but it does mean they are capable of getting it in... Also - do you have Vitamin cottage near you? They might have it too...

Wholesome Sweetners sells it, you should just ask someone at Wild Oat if you can special order it.

"Plantation" brand is organic, sold at Wild Oats and Whole Foods, if they don't have it, they will order it (I just e-mailed them and asked.)

My bottle (well, OK, I'm at Froggy's house, technically it's HIS bottle) says "Organic" right across the center front label in big red letters.

I'm betting they probably make an organic and non-organic version by the same company...

Hi guys,

Healthy cooking doesn't mean that you have to pay outrageous amounts of money for a gourmet chef or those overly-priced cooking utensils, or even those expensive cookbooks. Healthy cooking also doesn't mean that you have to cut out all of the foods that you love to eat. Thanks
