Is hoison sauce vegan? I want to make moo shoo tofu and am unsure about it. I don't even know what it is. All I know is it tastes good

Usually yes it is. But check the label, you never know with some companies.

It's a thick-ish sweet, dark reddish brown sauce. It's very tasty and usually easy to find in the Asian section of the market.

I hope it is, because I love it! It tastes to me like Indonesian kecap manis (sweet, syrupy soy sauce) -- don't know if it's really the same thing.

i mix equal parts of hoisin, peanut butter & water to make an awesome peanut sauce. i eat it with home-made spring rolls.
