Are these products vegan?

Hi, new vegan here and I'm just wondering if these products are vegan, some sites say vegan but I'm still concerned.

Old El Paso vegetarian refried beans

Bush vegatarian baked beans
(My only concern is the brown sugar)

Quakers brown sugar and maple oatmeal
(My only concern is the brown sugar)

Hi Kaieli, and welcome to the forum.

Old El Paso vegetarian refried beans contain "Natural Flavor", which could possibly contain dairy/egg ingredients: https://www.oldelpaso.com/products/v...-refried-beans . This is easily solved - just buy Trader Joe's brand Organic Refried Beans instead; they contain no animal ingredients, and they are really cheap: https://www.traderjoes.com/digin/pos...ed-pinto-beans

If you are concerned about Bush's Vegetarian Baked Beans, an alternative is Amy's Organic Vegetarian (baked) Beans. Amy's website shows them as vegan, so they'd better be: https://www.amys.com/our-foods/organ...an-baked-beans

If you are concerned about Quaker's instant brown sugar and maple oatmeal, an alternative is Trader Joe's Unsweetened Instant Oatmeal. It contains only oats, flax, chia seeds, quinoa, and amaranth: https://www.traderjoes.com/digin/pos...nstant-oatmeal . Very inexpensive, too.

The Vegetarian Resource Group has very detailed information about the vegan/vegetarian status of hundreds of food ingredients: http://www.vrg.org/ingredients/

Just out of interest (I'm not a vegan) what's wrong with brown sugar?
