Just now registering to my first vegetarian/vegan forum, I mainly just "trash"post in YouTube comments. (Yes, I've read your rules on profanity)
I've been vegan for going on three years now (it'll be three on November). Some facts about me:
I am remarkably the same as when I transitioned. I never understood the whole "I went vegan and feel 1,000,000 times better." statement, and I've experimented with a lot of diets (fully raw, high carb, high fat, whole food, etc.). Mind you, I was pretty healthy when I was a filthy omnivore as well (ran 12+ miles a week), just with a statistically 470% higher chance of being a loser... lol.
I am an ethical vegan (it took some time before I got to that point) and my favorite meal when I go out is pretty much french fries and a salad. I've had a couple vegan burgers which weren't terrible but I'm a lentil soup and oatmeal kinda guy.
I'm currently working in a country whose national dish is vegan.
I've met two vegans IRL since I went vegan. It's depressing. Oh, and one "social vegetarian", which threw me for a loop so large you could sail a modest cruise liner through it.
Anything else feel free to ask. Looking forward to coming here often. I wish I had more practical stuff like recipes to post but all of mine are pretty much of the "put split peas and carrots in a pot and simmer for an hour" variety.
