Cool Zen Master!

Haha jk, I am not a master of anything!

I am however planning to go to Gyobutsuji Zen Monastery in America and I know that this monastery is focused on respect for all sentient creatures.

The abbot really believes this is the practice of Zen and so everything is off-the-grid and all products and things even down to bars of soap have to be approved to make sure they are environmentally friendly, etc.

I love animals and life but I know there is a lot I have to learn and I want to make the best impression I possibly can so I thought this would be a great resource!

Look forward to learning from all you real masters!

This sounds like a wonderful place. It's located in rural Arkansas, which is unusual for a Buddhist monastery.

Zen Buddhism is not necessarily vegetarian. Have you practiced vegetarianism before?

I have practiced vegetarianism before and I plan to get back into it and maybe vegan. It seems kind of part of the Buddhist path in many ways.
