I joined this site out of curiosity today. At the end of 2015, I was 26, 280lbs and lived off a diet heavy in meat, dairy and eggs. At this same time, I started to learn a bit about veganism and the benefits of a plant-based diet. On March 28, 2016 I embarked on a weight loss plan in which I incorporated two key principles, a majority plant based diet (6 days a week) and intermittent fasting (16-18 hours on average). I'm absolutely shocked at what has taken place in less than a year! I've dropped 76lbs and now weigh a respectable 195lbs. I can't believe how sick and unhealthy I was for years. While I'm not fully vegan, incorporating a majority plant-based diet into my life has been the best gift I have ever received in my life. I'm hoping to connect with some other people on a similar journey to better health and a healthier, more compassionate world.
