Talking Newbie

Hello! My name is Madison and I am 15 years old. I have been interesting in becoming vegetarian ever since I was 8-9, since the person who watched me and my sister when my parents had to go somewhere was vegetarian and the food she had me and my sister try tasted amazing and showed me you don't need meat for food to taste good (also those tofutti ice cream sandwiches are super delicious). So far I have cut turkey and chicken out of my diet, and I am trying to cut out pork and beef, which is a little hard since I live in Texas and my family thinks meat has to be in every single meal or its not worth calling food. I know someday I will be able to get there though, and I hope it does not take too long

My usual answer: I have never heard a convincing reason to eat meat.

Welcome in Madison, yep the primary reason why any food tastes good is due to the seasonings, salt, sugar, spices, oils and way of cooking. Meat isn't tasty at all, it develops a flavor due to the way of cooking. Likewise vegetarian food can be even more amazing if cooked in the right way, and unlike meat it doesn't have unnecessary hormones and bacteria. Great to see you off to a start early and hope you can one day become a full fledged vegan. Good luck.

The earth has enough resources for everyones need but not their greed.
