i was thinking the other day about certain people whose voices i've always liked, so i thought it might be a cool thread for people to post which ones they like, too. plus, if there are singing voices, we'll have more recommendations on what to listen to.

here's a few of mine.

This is a cool thread!

For singing I like Dave Matthews. His voice is so odd that it becomes pleasing. I haven't heard him speak, but I'm wondering whether being South African has something to do with it.

As for speaking voices, I like anyone with a Brooklyn accent. I can't think of specific people at the moment.

I really love Garrison Keillor. I hate though, that he's doing commercials for Honda. That western-Midwestern accent is very comforting to me.

I love this woman's voice, from an old Broadway version of Riverdance:

It doesn't get better than Richard Burton speaking Dylan Thomas's words in Under Milkwood and I also really like the voices of Joanna Lumley and Ingrid Newkirk.

I found Javier Bardem's voice in No Country For Old Men enthralling (Well, I like his ordinary voice too, but in NCFOM it was deeper and slower...mmm). If he did an audio tape with that going on I would never stop listening to it.

Same goes for Anthony Hopkins.

Oh good one. I totally agree. I might even be inclined to go on a date with Anton Chigurh, regardless of the haircut.

I really love Sacha Baron Cohen's voice. I mean his actual talking voice, which is deep with an English accent. It's so pleasing for some reason, I always say I could just listen to him talk for hours. I want him to read a story to me

As for singing, I love Regina Spektor's voice. So lovely

I know there are a million more, but I'll think of them later..
