So i play on a company kickball team and each week we have a new theme for our uniform. We have done silly hats, ties, goggles, hawaiian shirts, etc so far. This week they want to do 80s night and I am completely stumped for what to wear.

I don't actually own anything from the 80s since I was 8 when the decade ended and I don't think it would fit me anyway...

So anyone have any ideas for how to make an 80s look with just normal clothes?

If you have some black tights (or any color) you could wear those with a big t-shirt you have lying around, and either tie the tshirt up on the side, or under your chest, or you could wear a wide belt around it.

If you have long hair, crimp it, or tease it and do up a big side pony tail.

Lots of mascara, blue eyeshadow if you can find it (pick some up at a dollar store for a dollar) and pink blush.

I always liked the aerobics look of the 80's. spandex with the spandexy underwear and the headband with huge hair and blue eye shadow....or you could go in a Madonna look, easy to do.

I loved the first years of the 80's. The only decent years I ever had. Maybe go to Google images and do a search. There is a difference between the early and later parts of the decade.

Vintage punk was kind of big where I lived. I used to know this girl who would wear hats with veils and other vintage attire to this punk club I would have been scared to go to. She looked tough herself but was actually a very sweet person.

Giant hair and huge shoulderpads.... I don't miss those shoulderpads one bit! Still have the big hair but it's natural, never had to use hairspray...

Untied high top sneakers (that was big my senior year in HS), someone else mentioned Madonna (think the movie "Desperately Seeking Susan"), Raybans, lots and lots of cheap bracelets, I also remember having lots of really short layered (ruffly) skirts.

Good suggestions. In order to achieve a genuine 80's look, you have to tease your bangs until they're straight up and over to one side and spray the heck out of them. The higher you can get the bangs, the better! We want pictures after you get your look together.
