So I found this awesome edible centerpiece days after Thanksgiving: http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/k...nucopia_36.jpg so obviously wasn't able to make it for the holiday- now I have to wait until next year!

I'm trying to come up with some cool idea for something similar to do for Christmas dinner. The only things I've found are fruit/cheese "trees" which are cool... but I kind of wanted something a little more elaborate.

Anyone have any cool edible centerpieces for Christmas? I'm doing all the cooking this year as my gift to the family (I'm FLAT broke at the moment) so they might make some small meat thing for my mom and grandmother, but otherwise it will be veg*n. But I really want something to take the place of whatever meat centerpiece someone might usually have (we don't, generally, the meat is just -there-, but you get the idea).

I love making gingerbread houses. What about this? http://www.onereputation.com/aisle-f...quembouche.jpg

They're called croquembouche, but I totally didn't remember that. I just googled "French sugar ball thing" and found it!

You could make the cornucopia for Christmas. I was thinking about doing it for Christmas since I missed making it for Thanksgiving!

I would do a design out of fruit or something healthy to nibble on that's colorful.

Fruit is a good idea, but how could one make a Christmas-themed fruit decor? Christmas is known for Christ, Santa, gifts, Christmas trees... Hmmmm Maybe a Christmas tree made of fruit?

I imagine something made out of these would be really pretty AND delicious.
