Did anyone else catch the segment on Bondi Vet where a Bulldog was neutered and then fitted with silicone testicles?
I have to say it really disgusted me that a vet would perform such pointless and downright creepy aesthetic surgery on an animal...I don't agree with any kind of plastic procedures for animals. Even when anaesthetics/painkillers are used the animal still experiences a degree of fear, pain and discomfort and for an unnecessary procedure, I don't think this is acceptable.
Besides...frankly, I think that someone who is that obsessed with the size of their dogs' manly bits shouldn't be allowed within 50m of any animal
maybe theres some benefit to the dog having silicone implants which im not aware of, but this looks like drumming up business to me. maybe its for psychological reasons ?? like, could a dog get confused when he licks his balls and doesnt feel much there ??

there are some that are beneficial to the animal and can improve their quality of life. for example, i had a dog some years ago that i had some plastics work done on. she had demodetic mange which left her with very baggy skin which looked really bad and flapped around when she moved. it was obviously bothering her a lot because she began to stand and walk weird. my vet gave her a nip and a tuck and afterwards she looked great and seemed much happier.
I've seen those implants before, Merrick and Rosso did a segment on their show once. They're called Neuticals It's your typical superficial and useless bull from LA designed to make someone a lot of dough.
Warning: Vid contains some comments about "food animals" that may be offensive to some.
dunno bout that hun, youve seen the size of rats balls havent you. theyre pretty urm, "significant" in comparison to the rest of their body. it could be a big deal for them
I don't agree to plastic surgery to any kind of animals. I don't even want to undergo my personal pets to plastic surgery, although complications are rare and procedures are considered generally safe when performed by a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon, there are still existing risks. Like what I've read in this link: Plastic surgery for dogs and cats on the rise . I don't want my pets to experience pain, especially in the hands of others. I love them the way I love myself.
Anyways, my grandfather actually told me when I was getting my Pug his neutering scheduled that if I cared about him I would get him prosthetics, and if not I must hate all animals to put him through neutering and hurt his self-esteem and all this crazy stuff.
I chewed him out, and mentioned that he's done awful things to animals (he declawed his cats, for one), and so he's really one to talk. Plus, the neutering would significantly help my pug because he's undescended and his vet said it is likely to become infected if they don't take it out.
Also, the botox Pug thing isn't that far-fetched, except for the situations I've heard of aren't to destroy wonderful aspects of the breed, but restore them. I have some friends who have spent thousands on surgeries, medicines, etc. to get their pugs' tails to curl up again (they never do). Pugs' tails uncurl when they're asleep, relaxed, etc., and it's very common for Pugs who have been hit by a car, had a stroke, etc. to not be able to curl their tails again. Also, Botox and surgeries are used to treat a problem some pugs have with their eyes where they could lose eyesight without medical treatment involving the wrinkles being worked on. The particular situation is rare but has happened, I hope I never have to do that to my poor puggy.
Plastic surgery for pets sounds awful
