Is this true? How much is too much? Are the flax seeds you buy at the store raw?

Yes they are raw and they contain some toxic elements as do other seeds. The benefit outweighs the risks by far. The German section of Wikipedia has it differently: don't use more than two tablespoons per day and don't heat flax seeds.

Wow, I've never heard of that before. I wonder if flax seed oil has the toxins removed.

yes, but apple pips contain cyanide.

many foods contain chemicals that are dangerous, but to get a lethal dose youd have to eat nothing other than them.
