Maybe this would be better suited for the vegan board..I contemplated it for a moment, but I know vegans visit this board too so I thought maybe it would get more exposure here. It's a story that I thought would interest people here....

FOX RIVER GROVE, Ill., Sept. 25 (UPI) -- A Fox River Grove, Ill., middle school art teacher has been fired after he refused to stop advocating veganism during classroom lessons.

"You are ruining my world and eating my friends," he said at the school board meeting. He refused to return to his classroom unless the school cafeteria switches to a meatless menu.

Hmm. Well he wasn't doing his job anymore, which was to teach art class... So I'm afraid he did deserve to get fired.

Yeah, that is what I am thinking. If he wanted to initiate a change in policy, there are better ways to go about it.

Even knowing what I know now about factory farming and all...if I was a student in his class I would have asked him to drop that stuff in the classroom.

Is this the same story that we've discussed at length here?
