"Diet For A New American" 30th anniversary

Year 2017 marks the 30th anniversary of Diet For A New America, the 1987 book that launched the modern Western vegan movement.

I remember when the book and video documentary came out. PBS showed the documentary for months, it seemed.

The full documentary is on YouTube. It's a trip to watch, because it features appearances from the much-younger John McDougall, Michael Klaper, and T. Colin Campbell. John McDougall's "starch-centered diet" message was exactly the same as it is now. Michael Klaper had a little more hair. T. Colin Campbell discusses his research in China (that later became The China Study).

1990 was an incredible year.
